"An Inconvenient Truth," which offers a passionate and inspirational look at former Vice President Al Gore’s commitment to expose the myths and misconceptions that surround global warming, will be presented at USM Tuesday, November 7.
In this eye-opening and poignant portrait of Gore and his “traveling global warming show,” Director Davis Guggenheim weaves the science of global warming with Gore's personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. "Al Gore strips his presentations of politics, laying out the facts for the audience to draw their own conclusions in a charming, funny and engaging style, and by the end has everyone on the edge of their seats, gripped by his haunting message," said Guggenheim.
The film will be presented Tuesday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 170 at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus on 51 Westminster Street in Lewiston. The public is invited to attend at no charge. This event is sponsored by a collaboration of the Episcopal Chaplaincy at USM and several student groups. There will be a discussion session immediately following the movie.
