Planning on inviting an international faculty member
or research scholar to USM?
Our best advice is Start The Planning Process EARLY.

You will need to talk with the International Programs Office to ensure that they enter the US with the proper immigration status. The first step is to complete a Visitor Data Sheet and return it to the International Office with any necessary back up materials

The Portland Social Security Office is located at 550 Forest Avenue in Portland (on the corner of Ashmont Street). Offiece hours are Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Their phone number is 207-771-2851
