Degree candidates are encouraged to include a period of study away in their academic career. Through the many partner universities and consortia, students can enrich their academic programs and life experiences. In every case, students must complete the USM application to study away, and may also need to apply directly to the program of choice. |

INTERESTED IN STUDYING IN EAST OR SOUTHEAST ASIA? The Freeman-ASIA award provides financial assistance to students with demonstrated financial need who wish to study in one of 15 countries in the East or Southeast areas of Asia. The application cycle for Summer 2005 awards will open on January 19, 2005 and the application cycle for Fall 2005 or Academic Year 2005/06 will open on February 16, 2005.
