The Office of International Programs has developed the following list of APPROVED study abroad programs which are organized by geographic location to help make your selection easier.
If you are interested in participating in a program that is not on one of the lists you will need to seek special permission to attend an unlisted program. You will need to print out and complete a Petition Form, as well as attached the requested information about your proposed program.
While numerous study abroad opportunities exist in thousands of location there are still some locations where you cannot study abroad. Some programs just do not have established study abroad opportunities and USM cannot approve students to study in locations listed on the Department of State Travel Warnings list.

AFRICA: Study Abroad in AFRICAThis list includes study abroad options in Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Madascagar, Mali, Morocco, Namibia, Rwanda/Uganda, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.
ASIA: Study Abroad in ASIA
This list includes study abroad options in China, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE and Vietnam.
EUROPE: Study Abroad in Europe This list includes study abroad options in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Switzerland.
LATIN AMERICA: Study Abroad in Latin America
This list includes study abroad options in Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Puerto Rico.
UNITED KINGDOM & IRELAND: Study Abroad in the United Kingdom & Ireland Global Learning Semesters: Programs that include India & Asia or various location in

Environmental Scieince.
The Council on Intenrational Educaitonal Exchange (CIEE): offers teach abroad
opportunties in Chile, China, South Korea, Spain and Thailand.
