WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES TO APPLY FOR A STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM?

The deadline for Fall 2008 or Academic Year 2008-09 is February 29th, 2008.

The deadline for Spring 2009 will be in early October of 2008.

WHAT DO I DO FIRST?

First step is finding a program that works for you. Use the menu to the left to visit our reciprocal programs, partner schools or find a program by country.

You should start this process about a year in advance to give yourself plenty of time to find the right program and complete the application process.

OKAY I'VE LOOKED ON LINE BUT I STILL CAN FIND THE RIGHT PROGRAM - CAN YOU HELP ME?

YES! We can help in two ways: 1. visit our "Overwhelmed by the Choices website" where we'll ask you some questions that will allow us to make some recommendations. 2. Make an appointment with someone in the International Programs office to help you narrow down your choices. Simply call us at 780-4959, stop by our office at 101 Payson or e-mail Kimberly to schedule a time.

WHAT IF I WANT TO STUDY ABROAD IN THE SUMMER OR WINTER?

USM offers it's own short term summer and winter travel programs.

If you don't find the summer program that you're looking for, contact the International Programs office to help locate information on alternative summer program options.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Application forms and instructions for International Exchange are available on line for your convenience. However, we recommend that you meet with a Study Abroad Advisor before beginning the process.
