Your National Exchnage advisor will prepare a budget for you based on your first choice school. To request an NSE budget please e-mail Domenica with the name of your first choice school. Please be sure to include in your e-mail if you can go to the school paying either USM or the host school. That often increases your chances of placment. However, some students must be placed paying USM as their scholarships will not transfer.

How will you fund your program? USM students who receive approval from the Office of International Exchange are eligible to take their financial aid package with them. Some dollar amounts may change and not all scholarships are eligible to go with you so be sure you connect with the financial aid office early on in the process.
FEE: All students applying to the National Student Exchange program must submit a $125 non-refundable placement fee. Checks should be made payable to the University of Southern Maine.
