University of Southern Maine

The logo design allows for one identifier to specify departments, programs, or offices. The identifier appears at right.

The font used is Helvetica bold upper and lower case, with a cap height the same as "UNIVERSITY OF." It appears on the horizontal format flush left and aligned with "University of Southern Maine" on the left and to the bottom of the mark's box in a two line format. It is centered on the vertical format.

Ideally, the name of the identifier should not exceed the logo type by any more than 3 characters or letters.

To build our identity, the logo as shown on these pages must be used in its entirety, not separated into component parts, altered in proportion, printed in color combinations other than those outlined in this guide, screened or modified in any other way. An exception to this would be on a printed piece of 1- or 2-colors where the entire logo would be printed in one color, in the most dominant color of ink printed.

The words University of Southern Maine or USM in the logo may not be used without its mark or vice versa. Logos may be downloaded at www.usm.maine.edu/publications/logo.html.
