Employees of the University of Southern Maine are eligible to take courses offered by the University, on a space available basis, free of tuition costs or at reduced rates. The following is a summary of benefits. Please consult your bargaining unit for further details.

Full-Time Regular Employees
Tuition Waiver for Employees
AFUM
The University will waive tuition for up to 2, four credit courses per semester, or a semester internship not to exceed 8 credit hours and during the summer, 2 courses not to exceed 4 credit hours for each course, or a summer internship not to exceed 8 credit hours.
For required concurrent enrollment in a laboratory course, in connection with another separate course, which is covered by a tuition wiaver; the tuition waiver shall be applicable to the laboratory course. The lab course shall not be counted as part of the 8 hours of total waiver and shall not constitute an additional course.
This benefit shall not be applicable when an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence(except for military call up),layoff, long-term disability or Worker's Compensation.
