USM is the comprehensive regional and urban institution in the University of Maine System which is comprised of Eight academic units on three campuses. The Portland campus is located in Maine’s largest city (population 65,000), within a thriving economic and cultural region of the state, on beautiful Casco Bay. Gorham is 10 miles from downtown Portland in the midst of scenic New England countryside. Lewiston-Auburn is located midway between the coast and the mountains, 30 minutes north of Portland.

Located a two-hour car drive north of Boston, Portland offers a low crime rate, lack of congestion, excellent cultural and outdoor activities, and a beautiful setting, just minutes from both beautiful sandy beaches and the famous rocky coast of Maine.

Stone House Coordinator
Temporary part-time position

The University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA program seeks a highly organized detail-oriented individual to coordinate, supervise, and implement services at the Stone House before, during and after a ten-day conference with approximately 100 people in attendance. The person must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work on many different projects concurrently. Specific duties include: managing the daily use of the Stone House during the conference, overseeing all catering services, setting up rooms for multiple workshop sessions each day, supervising temporary support staff, and ordering and purchasing supplies. This is a part-time position, which at least two years of conference management experience is preferred
