USM is the comprehensive regional and urban institution in the University of Maine System which is comprised of eight academic units on three campuses. The Portland campus is located in Maine’s largest city (population 65,000), within a thriving economic and cultural region of the state, on beautiful Casco Bay. Gorham is 10 miles from downtown Portland in the midst of scenic New England countryside. Lewiston-Auburn is located midway between the coast and the mountains, 30 minutes north of Portland.

Assistant Professor of Marketing #9903

The University of Southern Maine’s School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Marketing, to begin August 27, 2010.  Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and MBA-levels, scholarship, and service, as well as partnering with the business community, internship supervision, and student advising.

Required qualifications include a PhD in marketing (or ABD with expected completion by August 2010) or other doctoral degree compatible with AACSB Academic Qualifications.  The successful candidate will have interest in one or more of the following sub-areas: Market Opportunity Analysis, CRM, e-Marketing, International Marketing, or Business Policy & Strategy.  Relevant work experience is valued. 
 
The USM School of Business is located in scenic Portland, Maine, and is accredited by AACSB International.  The School’s mission emphasizes partnership with the business community, which is a key feature of the School.  Partnership can take many forms: use of live case studies or other forms of experiential learning; applied research; involvement with our Center for Business and Economic Research, Maine Small Business Development Center, Center for Entrepreneurship, or Maine Center for Enterprise Development; service to nonprofits; participation in local professional associations; participation in efforts to stimulate economic growth; or the like.
