USM is the comprehensive regional and urban institution in the University of Maine System which is comprised of Eight academic units on three campuses. The Portland campus is located in Maine’s largest city (population 65,000), within a thriving economic and cultural region of the state, on beautiful Casco Bay. Gorham is 10 miles from downtown Portland in the midst of scenic New England countryside. Lewiston-Auburn is located midway between the coast and the mountains, 30 minutes north of Portland.

The University of Maine School of Law invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position to begin in 2008-2009. The Law School’s particular curricular need is in the area of Property, including: First-Year Property, Advanced Property, Real Estate Finance, and Wills and Trusts. Applicants mush possess a J. D. degree, an excellent academic record, a record or promise of high scholarly achievement, and a record or promise of a successful experience in teaching and mentoring students. Both lateral and entry level candidates will be considered. Rank and salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Members of minority groups, women and others whose background would contribute to the diversity of the School are encouraged to apply.
