This position has primary responsibility for managing the sales floor of the University’s Campus Computer Store. Employee performs specialized work involving the merchandising, distribution and selling of computers, software and peripherals. Work involves use of extensive product knowledge and frequent verbal and written contact with faculty, staff, students and vendors. Work requires judgment and initiative.
Qualifications: Required: Two (2) years relevant experience in an area directly related to the duties of this position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of current computing technologies, relative merits and costs, including current hardware systems, and software suites. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors. Ability to effectively manage a small number of staff. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 60lbs. Preferred: Bachelors degree or four years (4) experience in related field. Knowledge of inventory control, cash management, marketing, vendor relations. Previous work in computer sales environment. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh computer systems and software.
