This is to confirm your temporary appointment as (Official title) in the (Col/Dept/Div/School) effective (date). Although the position has an expected ending date of (date), there is no guarantee that it will not end prior to that time. You will be at wage band (letter or number) in step (step designation) at (rate/hour). This is an (# of hours/week) position.

There are several forms that must be completed on or prior to your first day of employment at USM. One of these forms, the I-9, is required by law to verify your eligibility for employment and must be completed in the presence of an authorized University representative. Other forms must be completed for you to be paid accurately and on time. Please bring required documents such as driver=s license and social security card (other documents such as a passport are also acceptable; call 780-5115 for details) for the I-9. We recommend you sign up for Payroll Direct Deposit and for that you will need to bring either a voided check (the checking account option) or an account number (the savings option). You may complete these forms at either of the following locations:

As a temporary employee, University benefits do not apply.
