| The university HR office will identify the appropriate salary range for each salaried position at the time a request to fill a position is initiated. The minimum of the range will be the minimum of the salary band to which the position has been assigned. The normal range for an initial hire will be in the 1st quartile. |
| Note: These bands and rates apply only to positions rated under the new SECCP (those which had a valid PDQ in place before 12/10/04). These bands are not the same as the salary levels which USM has used for many years and which still cover positions which are new or reclassified since 12/10/04. |
