New Hire Liaison - Web Guide
![]()
This web guide is to assist you with the new hire paperwork on or prior to the first day of employment for new employees.
TO: Department New Hire Liaison
FROM: Dan Rabata, Employment Manager
The initial paperwork completed by new hires is important in meeting legal requirements and in providing accurate, timely pay. We appreciate your key role in this process.
While new hires may take care of this at McLellan House, many find it more convenient to work with you in the department. They are alerted to the two optional locations as follows:
1. New regular employees (hired by search or search waiver)
In the appointment letter prepared by Employment Services, we direct the employee to you or to McLellan House.2. New temporary employees (no search)
Appointment letters are prepared by the hiring organization for USM temporary employees using the enclosed sample formats. NOTE: the new hire forms must also be completed for temporaries who don=t receive appointment letters such as part-time faculty and employees brought on for a very brief period.
I hope this web guide will be useful. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for improving it.
