University Health and Counseling Services

Mandy Garmey is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Simmons College and a Master’s degree in psychiatric mental health nursing from Boston College. Mandy has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years in a variety of settings and with people of all ages.   She and her husband have helped their two wonderful daughters successfully navigate their teens and twenties and she really likes working with the University student population.   At USM she works with counseling staff as needed to provide medications and psychiatric care to students.  She is a member of a community mental health clinical advisory committee and a member of the state of Maine Healthy Ideas task force.  In her free time she studies piano and enjoys taking care of her horse.
