University
Health and Counseling Services
Ann Lovegren
Conley is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical
Director of University Health Services on the Portland
campus. For her, working at USM, and with USM students,
is particularly special: Ann earned a Bachelors degree
in French from USM in 1991, then returned in 1994 to
pursue a Masters degree in Nursing.
Upon
graduation in 1997, Ann spent six years working with
underserved populations. She worked at a rural health
center in Down East Maine as part of the National Health
Service Corps, and later in the Bangor area. Ann loves
being a nurse practitioner because she can take the time
to really get to know her patients and work with them on
their personal goals toward wellness.
Ann came back
to USM in 2003. She joined University Health Services
as a clinician and now also oversees the clinical and
administrative functions in the Portland clinic. When
not at work, Ann is busy planning, working in, or
harvesting from her garden at home. She is married and
also shares her home with two black cats and a
larger-than-most Siberian husky.
