University Health and Counseling Services

Larisa Semenuk graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Doctorate of Nurse Practice in 1997.  In 1991 she received a BA from Cornell University majoring in English and Women’s Studies.  Her love of college health began as a student at Cornell volunteering at the Health Service on campus.  As a National Health Service Corps Scholar, she worked for 6 years in a rural community health center in southwestern Maine before returning to college health in 2003.

Larisa Semenuk, DNP is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner.  Larisa has recently joined the Maine Nurse Practitioner Association’s Legislative Committee to support work that will help improve the health of Mainers at a policy level.

At USM, Larisa Semenuk is the Director of the Gorham Health Services site overseeing clinical and administrative work.  She enjoys helping students to learn about their bodies and how to keep them healthy.  When not at work, Larisa relaxes by hiking, sewing, and jogging.  She loves to build fairy houses and go letterboxing with her husband and two daughters.
