Criteria for Honorary Degree:  international, national or regional reputation for their intellectual, scholarly, or creative achievement with special emphasis on original contributions in their fields of competence, or to those who have attained significant recognition for unusual, high public service

Criteria for Distinguished Achievement Award:  celebrates those values that are at the core of academic mission of a public higher education institution: the commitment to intellectual curiosity and integrity, the pursuit of new knowledge and understanding, and the application of one’s talents and abilities to the benefit of follow citizens
