Honorary Degree and Distinguished Achievement

Each year the University of Southern Maine recognizes individuals for their exemplary accomplishments and contributions through the presentation of Honorary Degrees and Distinguished Achievement  Awards.  These awards, made at our May commencement, provide an opportunity for USM to celebrate the values that are central to our academic community: intellectual and artistic integrity, free and open inquiry, and social justice.  They enable us to communicate the breadth of intellectual and creative endeavors that characterize our community from the arts and humanities to the sciences and the professions.
