  • Equality Maine - Maine's oldest and largest LGBT political advocacy organization.
  • Gay Portland Maine - A web resource for entertainment, news and resources in greater Portland and Maine.  News can also be found at the The Companion newspaper.
  • GLAD - Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders provides an overview of legal rights and issues in Maine.
  • GLSEN - Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network envisions a future in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.  GLSEN Southern Maine can be contacted on the web or via email at: glsen@gwi.net
  • Maine SpeakOut Project - Training and providing speakers on issues of sexuality and gender identity
  • MaineTransNet - Maine Transgender Network, Inc. is dedicated to educating the public about gender identity and raising awareness of the varied forms of gender expression.
  • PFLAG of Portland - Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays - supporting families and friends, and their LGBT loved ones.  PFLAG Portland meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  For more information, call their Helpline at (207) 831-3015.
  • Portland Lesbian Coffee House - Organized through Meetup.com, the PLCH is a social group in Southern Maine that brings together lesbians from all walks of life to share in activities, make new friends,laugh and have a whole lot of fun.
  • PRYSM - Proud Rainbow Youth of Southern Maine - Providing safe and supportive space for LGBTQ young people age 22 and under.  prysm@commcc.org or call (207) 874-1030, ext. 513.
