Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and
Allies Alumni Chapter
The LGBTI & Allies chapter is an
organization for USM alumni/ae, faculty, staff, and students
from all USM undergraduate and graduate colleges and programs.
The LGBTI and Allies chapter was formed in the summer of 2007
with the aim of connecting alumni in various parts of the
country and in supporting students find USM LGBTI connections
while in school and after graduation. This is done through a
variety of venues such as luncheons, educational programs and
volunteer events.
Events
- The chapter will host the 2nd annual LGBTA Alumni Reception in
conjunction with the Royal Majesty Drag Show on November 21,
2008. Additional details will be available soon.

with your name, address, email address, graduation class and
degree. Your name will be added to a list which will be used for
mailing purposes only.
Chapter's Mission:
Established: September 1, 2007
The purposes of the LGBTI and Allies
Chapter, as a chapter of the Alumni Association of USM are:

to provide a recognized forum that facilitates dialogue and
builds positive relationships between the University, the USM
Alumni Association, and its LGBTI and ally alumni
-
to support and encourage a positive social and academic
environment throughout the University for its LGBTI and ally
alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends
-
to keep LGBTI and ally alumni informed of the progress of the
University and the chapter, especially in relation to the
concerns, needs, goals and interests of the LGBT alumni
students, faculty, staff and friends

to develop programs that will support current LGBTI students,
such as scholarships and mentoring programs
-
to assure visibility of and advocate for the concerns of
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex and ally
alumni to cooperate with the Alumni Association of USM in
promoting the interest and welfare of USM among its students,
graduates, former students and their families.
