Geographic Information Systems at the University of Southern Maine
Student Projects
Students involved in GIS Classes have the opportunity to conduct research projects. These projects are often related to grants. Many students have received grants from the Maine Space Grant Consortium. Past student GIS projects include:
- Remote Sensing of Bombay, India
- Development patterns of Greater Portland, Maine
- Analyzing the effects of stream buffers and the implications for environmental policies
Students also have the opportunity to become involved with ongoing research projects through the lab.
