Services

The GIS program offers many services to the USM and wider community:

Hardware: The GIS lab has computer workstations, scanners, and large-format printers.

Software:  Geographic Information Systems software is available throughout campus.  There are additional resources in the GIS Lab.

Field Equipment:  GPS Units and other precision mapping equipment is available for loan to members of the USM community.

Course Modules:  Lab facilities and staff expertise are available to faculty interested in integrating GIS into their courses.

Workshops:  USM-GIS periodically holds workshops for members of the wider community or USM faculty and staff on a variety of GIS and mapping related topics.

Digital Atlas:  The digital atlas is a compilation of GIS data on Maine, neatly packaged and available to members of the USM community.

Printing:  The lab plotter is available for poster printing.  We can also print color 11x17" sheets.
