Professor Swanson's (PhD, State University of New York at Albany) research interests include detailed mapping and structural analysis of fault zones and dike swarm complexes in southern coastal Maine. His teaching interests include structural geology, tectonics, ore deposits, geophysics. Mark teaches Digital Mapping every spring semester. He also teaches Field Mapping in the Island Environment every summer with Matthew Bampton. Mark is currently a member of the GIS Advisory Committee.
