Great turnout at the Poster Design Seminar

We had a great turnout at the poster design semiar on March 12. Blair has generously offered to provide all attenders and interested parties with a copy of his list of online resources. Contact the lab if you are interested in receiving a copy of the poster design resource list or download a PDF copy of the poster design resource list.

USM-GIS Lab on YouTube!

The GIS Lab recently completed a video showing a virtual fly-through of the Moosehead Lake Region.  Data was collected from the Maine Office of GIS website, the USGS National Map Seamless Server, and the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) website. The data were part of the Concept Plan submitted by Plum Creek Maine Timberlands, LLC and Plum Creek Land Company to the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission. The video was completed using ESRI's ArcGlobe software. The primary goal of the fly-through was to give viewers a new perspective on the Moosehead Lake Region. A secondary goals were to show the value of GIS as a visualization tool and to showcase some of the lab's capabilities.  The video can be viewed on You Tube.  Enjoy!
