Directions

Directions to the Gorham campus

From the north or south:
Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 42, Scarborough (formerly Exit 6). Turn left after exiting the Turnpike onto Payne Road. At the second traffic light turn left onto Route 114 north. Follow Route 114 for 6.5 miles to Gorham center, the intersection of Routes 25 and 114. Continue straight on Route 114 and take the first left after the traffic light onto College Avenue. The main entrance to the Gorham campus is on the right.

From Portland/I-295:
Take I-295 south to Exit 1 (Maine Mall Road). Exit right to Route 114/Maine Mall Road and immediately bear left. At the traffic light, turn left onto Payne Road. At the fifth traffic light, take a right onto Route 114 north. Follow Route 114 north for 6.5 miles to Gorham center, the intersection of Routes 25 and 114. Continue straight on Route 114 and take the first left after the traffic light onto College Avenue. The main entrance to the Gorham campus is on the right.

To the Portland Campus

From the south:
Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 44, South Portland/Downtown Portland (formerly Exit 6A). Follow I-295 to Exit 6B, Forest Avenue North. Take a left at the first traffic light onto Bedford Street. The Woodbury Campus Center is on the right. Enter the USM parking garage by taking the second left onto Surrenden Street.

From the north:
Take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 47, Rand Road/Westbrook (formerly Exit 7B). Follow Route 25 east for 3 miles. At the intersection of Falmouth Street, Route 25 (Brighton Avenue), and Bedford Street, bear to the left on Brighton Avenue that soon intersects with Bedford Street. Enter the USM parking garage by taking the first right onto Surrenden Street.

To USM's Lewiston-Auburn College
From the Maine Turnpike, take Exit 80 (formerly Exit 13). From the south, turn left at the stop sign. From the north, go straight.

Follow the signs toward Lisbon Falls and Brunswick. Proceed to the second stop light and turn left onto Westminster Street. Lewiston-Auburn College is the cedar-sided building at the top of the hill on the right.

Parking

A parking garage is available for those visiting USM's Portland campus. For information on accessing this garage or other parking information visit www.usm.maine.edu/police/parking.

Any vehicle parked on property owned by or under the control of USM must display a valid USM decal or other recognized parking permit. Vehicles may be registered at USM Police, Gorham and Portland, and Student Billing, Portland. An original or copy of each state vehicle registration and other information as required by the USM Police Department must be provided.

A copy of the University Motor Vehicle Rules and Regulations may be obtained at the Police Department on the Portland Campus, 46 Bedford St and on the Gorham Campus at the Parking Office in Upton Hall. The parking regulations and information on parking bans is available at the USM Police Department's Web site.
