Painted in a spare, gestural style, Bradford’s solitary, awkward figures aspire to grace, to connection, to another dimension altogether. In 1980, Bradford moved from Brunswick, Maine to New York City but returns to Maine each summer. She has had one person shows in New York, Boston, Chicago, California, and had work in the Portland Biennial and MECA’s Domestic Culture exhibit last spring. Her work is on view at ICON Gallery in Brunswick until Sept. 22.
