Scholarships

NOTE:  Athletics participation is not considered in the decision making for any awards provided by the institution.

This document lists scholarships offered by the University of Southern Maine and other organizations.  This listing provides scholarships which may require an application, or may utilize a faculty nomination process.

Scholarships are separated by the college or department that offers the scholarship.  Each listing will tell you the name of the scholarship, the minimum requirements for receiving the scholarship, and how to obtain an application or more information.  As a general rule, applications are available at the beginning of the Spring semester.

For most scholarships, in order to receive a monetary scholarship, the recipient must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA (please note that some scholarships have other GPA requirements); the recipient must also be a continuing USM student who is and will be registered for six or more USM credits during the semester(s) in which the award is credited to his/her account.  Graduating seniors are eligible for all non-monetary awards, including our two most prestigious, the George Van Amburg Outstanding Service Award and the Outstanding Senior Award.
