Ms. Kidder works across the three USM campuses to coordinate sustainability initiatives and advise the university community on the best ways to decrease overall environmental impact.
Tyler’s responsibilities include overseeing environmentally sensitive waste management and reduction practices, recommending sustainable building and renovation projects and materials, investigating alternative transportation options, educating and developing appropriate programing for students, staff, and community members, reporting greenhouse gas emissions and implementation of USM's Climate Action Plan, effectively communicating and mobilizing the USM community, and thematic oversight of university operations to ensure economic and environmental sustainability and to encourage culture change.
Tyler has a BA in Environmental Studies from Bucknell University and began in the field as the Sustainability Coordinator for Dining Services (Aramark) here at the University of Southern Maine.
