Student Information and Research Services

GOAL I: Climate

USM continuously strives to make the climate a welcoming climate inclusive in its understanding and integration across multiple dimensions of diversity, including but not limited to, diversity based on race and ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, gender expression and identity, religion and class.

Provide access to SIRS resources whether in the form of research, hardware, software, knowledge, and/or time for all departments within the Enrollment Management division regardless of the individual.


GOAL II: Academic Experience

The USM academic experience, which includes both curricular and co-curricular activities, increasingly reflects the multiplicity and diversity of communities and cultures locally, nationally and globally.

Provide a learning atmosphere of the Student Information System for all university communities and those thereof that are part of each university community regardless of employment status, race, gender, religious beliefs, enrollment status, etc.


GOAL III: Student Recruitment and Retention

USM strives to increase the diversity of its student body through active outreach and recruitment. USM increasingly works to develop structures and mechanisms that support the retention of all students, particularly students of color and other underrepresented populations.

Continue to maintain the integrity of data entered into the Student Information System for all students whether represented or underrepresented.

Provide data regarding all groups in an equal and nondiscriminatory fashion. Data is data and cannot be manipulated or massaged for any group whether part of the represented or underrepresented.

Continue to provide analysis of data strictly based on the data that is requested so as to not under-represent any group, even the represented.

Ensure that the data requirements for information connected to diverse populations is considered and addressed during the implementation of the new student information system (PeopleSoft).


GOAL IV: Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention

USM strives to increase the diversity of faculty and staff, particularly faculty and staff of color, but inclusive of other underrepresented populations as defined in Goal I.

Strive for continued access for all faculty and administrators regarding student information so that daily operations within all functional areas have an opportunity to make use of its processes and procedures efficiently.
