Class Search

The new USM class search allows you to search for courses offered in the evening, on the weekend, at off-campus locations, online, and more. You can be as specific as you like, or leave fields open to retrieve more options.

To search for USM courses:

  1. Access the Class Search.
  2. Choose University of Southern Maine in the Institution menu.
  3. Choose a term in the Term menu.
  4. Click the Go button.
  5. If you want to take a class in a particular subject, click the Select Subject button, and then click the Select button next to the subject of interest.
  6. Click the Additional Search Criteria link in the light green box at the bottom.
  7. If you want to search for a class at a particular time, type the time or time range in the Meeting Time field(s).
    • Note: you can complete one or both fields. For example, to retrieve evening classes offered after 5:00PM, type 5:00PM in the left box.
  8. Select the check box(es) for the day(s) you want to attend classes.
  9. Choose Include Any of These Days in the Day of Week menu.
  10. If you want to take an online course, choose World Wide Web in the Mode of Instruction menu.
  11. If you want to attend class at one of our off-campus centers, or a specific campus (e.g., Gorham, Portland, Lewiston-Auburn), or another remote location, choose its name in the Location menu.
    • Note: For York County Community College, choose Wells in the menu.
  12. Click the light green Search button at the bottom right.
    • Note: There may be a short delay as your request is processed.
