Online Courses and Programs

Here at USM, we're constantly adding new online courses and programs, as the demand from students grows. These courses are conveniently accessed from your computer on Blackboard, a software interface available via your Web browser, or Elluminate, a software application that enables live online class sessions.

Some online courses require student availability at certain times (live, or synchronous courses), while others are conducted entirely asynchronously and do not require students to log on to Blackboard or Elluminate simultaneously. For more information about these and other requirements, please review the extended course description here.

Also, USM Libraries offer a full range of services to online students.

Search for an online course, or learn how you can gain a master's in adult education by taking a combination of classes online and during summer intensives.

Remember! If you register for an online course, make sure your maine.edu e-mail is activated, since you will receive important information at that e-mail address.

If you have any questions about online courses, please call or e-mail Ann Clarey, director of the Center for Technology Enhanced Learning, at clarey@usm.maine.edu, (207) 780-4077, or 1-800-800-4USM, ext. 4077.

If you would like to be added to the waiting list for an online class that is full, please call David Vardeman at CTEL, ext. (207) 780-4077, or 1-800-800-4USM, ext. 4077.
