What Is An WEB Course?
WEB courses are generally delivered over the computer, and may be taken at any location having Internet access, including a student's home.  In some cases the use of videotapes, DVDs, or
computer conferencing are included.

Most USM WEB classes use a so
ftware platform called Blackboard. This site should provide you with all the information you need about getting into your WEB course.
If you should run into difficulties, Technical Support is available through USM's
HELP! Desk.

"maine.edu" e-mail account
When registering for an WEB course, be sure to activate your "maine.edu" e-mail account if you haven't already done so. 
Video tutorial on account activation.

Why you must activate your maine.edu e-mail account:

  • It's needed to get into your Blackboard course
  • You will be receiving a registration confirmation in the form of an e-mail.
  • Your professor will be e-mailing you a Welcome Letter with course expectations and  start- up information.
