Mission Statement

The Division of Information and Technology (DoIT) is comprised of the following functions: desktop and software support; data and information reporting (academic, student, human resources, enrollment management and advancement); development and support of auxiliary applications; and communications (network, telecommunication and video). The mission of the Division, in accordance with the institutional mission expressed above, is

  • to provide leadership in the application of information and technology to teaching and learning, research, and scholarship;
  • to provide expert direction in the development and use of information, technology and communications for the administration of the institution;
  • to create and maintain partnerships between DoIT and other organizations for the development and deployment of new and enhanced technology and information services;
  • to actively engage and support all members of the university community in the use of and access to information and technology in their daily work; and
  • to maintain a high-quality, customer-focused information and technology organization that integrates and coordinates university information and technology needs and provides the USM community with efficient and effective services.
