Undergraduate Students
Many University resources are available online for your convenience. Check the availability of classes you may want to enroll in via MaineStreet or visit a course Web page on Blackboard. You may also check your grades and other academic records, view your financial aid information, submit your time card online or contact the Financial Aid Office or Registrar's Office. Find out more about The Core Curriculum, a set of common general education requirements for undergraduate students.
For assistance with MaineStreet, be sure to check the Student Help section of the USM MaineStreet information page.
Graduate Students
Most graduate programs are available on either a part- or full-time basis. Late afternoon and evening classes are offered to accommodate students who are also working professionals. For additional information, see the Office of Graduate Studies.
Law students should contact the University of Maine School of Law for additional information.
Continuing and Distance Education Students
The University of Southern Maine offers an array of credit and noncredit courses designed to meet the needs of working adults in greater Portland and throughout the state. In Fall 2009, USM began offering five new undergraduate programs in a new format, which will require that you spend half of the time on campus than is required in traditional programs. Find our more about these exciting new programs!
At USM—whether you're seeking opportunities for professional development or personal enrichment—we offer you the flexibility to take courses at night, on the weekends, or online. You don't have to apply to USM or enroll in a degree program to take courses. Find out more!
