Services

USM's Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL) supports the efforts of faculty, departments, and programs, who want to develop programs and courses for delivery through online and blended learning environments.

CTEL staff provide faculty members with “one-stop shop” assistance from initial consultation to course development and delivery, combining direct assistance with access to campus and University of Maine System resources.

Our staff will help you with your course descriptions, advertising your class, and ordering your books. We monitor the registration process and keep you informed as to progress. Once your students are enrolled, we will mail your welcome letter to them to begin your introductions and community building.

We are available to check in on your use of blackboard and make constructive suggestions, particularly helpful for beginners.

Media support:
Converting a face to face class to online can be challenging. You need to find new ways to create community with your students and to provide a sense of immediacy with students who may never see you in person. To that end, we encourage you to use various tools that are available to you to personalize your content.

Scott Kimball, Course Designer and Blackboard Specialist, and Sue Goodrich, Faculty Liaison, are available at the center or in your office.
