Rear Admiral and USM alum, William Leigher, talks the future of the Navy and the importance of STEM majors in Maine.

Rear Adm. William Leigher, an Appleton native and University of Southern Maine graduate, discusses the future of the Navy during a interview Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his hotel in South Portland. Leigher returned to Maine as part of the Navy's 50-city outreach tour.In a Bangor Daily News article, William Leigher, Rear Admiral for the Navy and USM alum, talks about the future of the Navy and the importance of STEM majors in Maine universities.

Leigher traveled to different spots around Southern Maine to meet with state officials and school and corporate representatives as part of the Navy outreach and recruitment program.
