2013 GE Lean Challenge Info Session
General Electric Corp. is hosting their annual national GE Lean Challenge competition, which involves teams of engineering and technology students from universities across the nation working collaboratively to solve real world technology, engineering, and manufacturing problems. USM students have dominated the competition since its inception in 2010, and we are currently seeking students to defend USM’s title! Cash prizes are available to the winners, but the real prize is working over a 12-week period on real world projects with executives and plant managers in GE’s manufacturing facility in Auburn, ME.
Departments of Engineering and Technology students interested in participating in the 2013 Challenge should attend an information session on January 17th, 2013 in John Mitchell Center 12:30 – 1:30 PM. Free pizza and beverages will be available.
For more information, or if you are unable to attend the info session but still want to participate, contact Michael Wing at 207-780-5956 or email mcwing@usm.maine.edu. Information on past winners is available at visit http://blogs.usm.maine.edu/publicaffairs/archives/7098
