Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) 

 If you are a USM student or alumni, you can now take the Strong online! You will receive your results during an appointment. You must meet with a counselor to get them.

1. Go to https://online.cpp.com. Login is usm and password is career. There is NO user ID required.

2. Stop by 7 College Ave., Gorham or 100 Payson Smith, Portland or call us at 780-5330 to set up a time to go over your results with Mariah. She is located at  7 College Ave., Gorham

3. You will need to pay **  before receiving your results

The most widely used personality inventory in the world, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs, to make C.G. Jung's theory of psychological type practical and useful in people's lives

The MBTI® instrument provides an accurate picture of a person’s personality type by determining preferences in four categories; the combination of these preferences will identify one of 16 distinct personality types. Understanding the characteristics unique to each personality type provides insight on individuals' ways of communicating and interacting with others.  This information can then be used to identify the types of careers that may be supportive to each personality type.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is offered to students and alumni through Career Services by request. The computer-based assessment costs $15.00**  for students and $30.00**  for alumni and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete.  After completing the assessment, you will sign up for an appointment which will guide you through interpreting your results and suggest careers supportive to your personality type.   Stop by our offices or call 780-4220 (Portland) or 780-5330 (Gorham) to pay for this assessment and to sign up for an appointment with Mariah
