What Can I Do With A Major In...

OCCUPATIONAL POSSIBILITIES


GEOPHYSICIST

Determines the flow patterns of ocean tides, helps locate petroleum and minerals deposits, investigates origins and activities of glaciers, volcanoes, and earthquakes; compiles data to set up water supply and flood-control programs, uses computers to collect and analyze information.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor's degree in physics, geophysics, astrophysics, mathematics engineering physics and other related fields.

CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Develops new ways to make chemical and related products. Designs equipment and develops processes for manufacturing chemicals, plans and tests methods of manufacturing the products and supervises production. Some specialize in certain areas such as pollution control and heat transfer.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor degree in Engineering, Physical Science or Mathematics.

Qualifications: BA in physics, engineering, computer science or equivalent technical experience.
