What Can I Do With
A Major In...
OCCUPATIONAL
POSSIBILITIES
Therapeutic Recreation
specialists use recreation and leisure education activities
to improve patient function. They can use sport, crafts,
dance, games, group activities and more to help clients
reach treatment outcomes.
Therapeutic Recreation
professionals often work in general recreation settings such
as Portland Parks & Recreation Department. Most,
however, work in a variety of treatment settings including
hospitals, nursing care facilities, physical rehabilitation
centers, substance abuse treatment, special population
camps, etc. They work with clients of all ages depending on
the setting.
