OCCUPATIONAL POSSIBILITIES 

PSYCHOLOGIST

Studies human behavior and the mental processes related to that behavior. Research psychologists investigate the physical, cognitive, emotional, or social aspects of human behavior. In applied fields they provide mental health services in hospitals, clinics, schools, or private settings.

Educational Requirements

A doctoral degree is generally required for employment as a clinical or counseling psychologist. Psychologists with a Ph.D.. qualify for a wide range of teaching, research, clinical, and counseling positions in universities, elementary and secondary schools, private industry, and government. 

PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORKER

Mental health social workers provide services for persons with mental or emotional problems, such as individual and group therapy, outreach, crisis intervention, social rehabilitation, and training in skills of everyday living. They may also help plan for supportive services to ease patients' return to the community.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for most positions. A master's degree is generally necessary for positions in health and mental health settings.

Youth and Family Counselors 
Work with children with emotional and behavioral problems at several programs located throughout Southern Maine. Opening include FT as well as relief or substitute positions, day/evening hours.
Qualifications:None were given.

Residential Advisior-
Support children and adults with developmental disabilities in their homes; provide support in the areas of recreation, daily living skills and community inclusion. 
Qualifications: Experience preferred but not required; HS diploma/driver license required. Excellent benefits and training are provided. 

Skill Developer/Community Support Worker-
Be part of a recovery-oriented team applying the principles of psycho social rehabilitation assisting mental health clients in developing a daily living, interpersonal, and self-mastery skills. 
Qualifications: BA degree in Social Work or closely related field and be certified or eligible for certification at the MHRT II level; must have two years closely related experience.

Attend conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings throughout the year.
