NEWS REPORTER

Information gathering and dissemination, analyze wire reports, research assignments.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a liberal arts. Experience with the school newspaper or an internship with a newspaper/non-print media.

FOREIGN SERVICES OFFICER

Represents the interests and policies of the United States at home and abroad. Can participate in negotiations and agreements with foreign countries.

Educational Requirements

Educational requirements may include a Bachelors or a Graduate degree. Foreign language proficiency a plus, one must take a foreign service officer exam. Communication skills needed.

Customs Inspector
Inspect cargo, baggage and articles worn or carried by persons and carriers (vessels, vehicles, trains and aircraft) entering or leaving the US at designated ports of entry or stations; inspect records and documents; seize contraband, equipment and vehicles; make arrests and detect and seize prohibited or smuggled articles. Position frequently requires irregular and unscheduled hours, some personal risk, exposure to all kinds of weather and, at times, adverse environmental conditions.
Qualifications: College graduate with a 3.45 overall GPA or higher; must be fluent in Spanish language or have knowledge and understanding of Hispanic culture.

Reporter
Generate visual stories, do live reports, flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications: Excellent writing skills, one year broadcast experience including live reporting, team player.

Political Action Internship-
Research congressional voting records, follow and research important environmental legislative, study and report on congressional candidates, and assist in political program work. Work directly with leaders of numerous national and state environmental organizations, congressional staffs, representatives of the media and congressional candidates. Positions are usually offered to recent college graduates and last for six months on a full time basis. Interns receive a monthly stipend of $950 to defray expenses. Position is in Washington, DC.
Qualifications: Recent graduate with an interest in political action for the environment.
