CURATOR

Works under supervision of chief curator. They are both responsible for many of the activities or departments of a museum. A curator has administrative duties related to their ear of specialization, and has primary responsibility for exhibitions, research, publications, acquisitions, and donor contracts within this area. Curators may supervise Assistant and Associate Curators. In a small museum, Curator and chief curator may be combined. Curators put together museum collections and interpret them for the public. An example would be installation of the collection in the museum galleries in such a way as to indicate historical progression; the publication of catalogs, or organization of special exhibitions.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor's degree in art history and possibly a graduate degree in their area of specialization.

PRINTMAKER

Create printed images from designs cut into wood, stone, or metal, or from computer driven data. The designs may be engraved, as in the case of wood blocking; etched, as in the production of etchings; or derived from computers in the form of ink jet or laser prints.

Educational Requirements

Educational requirements may include Bachelor's and graduate degree programs in fine art, graphic design, or visual communications. Internships also provide excellent opportunities for artists to develop and enhance their portfolios.

Qualifications: Autocad or Visual / CAD knowledge.

Pattern Maker Trainee
Development of new patterns, produces, and the ability to make corrections and changes.
