Buckmasters
American Deer Foundation Disabled Hunters Although Buckmasters is not a Maine based organization, it can provide disabled Mainers, who want to hunt, with a tremendous amount of information about adapted archery and firearms equipment as well as information about hunting blinds, hunting organizations, hunting laws for the disabled, and all-terrain vehicles that can help persons with disabilities gain access to remote outdoor areas. Guide
to Accessibility in Maine State Parks This online guide provides access information about parking, beaches, picnic areas, camping sites, trails, toilet facilities, phones and more. Currently two parks Crescent Beach State Park and Popham State Park are listed as providing "Beach Wheelchairs" that have wide wheels so that they can be easily moved over sand.
Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife http://www.maine.gov/ifw/licenses_permits/disabledpersons.htm The "Opportunities for Enhancing fishing and Hunting for People with Disabilities" part of the department's website provides information about new regulations that enhance access to fishing, hunting, and trapping for persons with disabilties. An application form for persons who qualify for complimentary licenses can be downloaded from the site.
