The commercially made holders shown above enable "one handed" crafters, as well as people with weak hands, to do needle work.  There are other types of holders, however, most tend to be expensive ($60-$80).  In addition, many of the embroidery hoop holders hold only one size of hoop.  The "no hands magnifier" is an inexpensive, adjustable device that is ideal for needlecrafts and reading.  It can be purchased in many craft and sewing stores.
