This site provides access information about art and cultural organizations and events. The Access Expressed directory, which is searchable by state, provides information about site accessibility at a variety of facilities such as theaters,museums and historical sites. Access information for over twenty Maine sites including Portland Stage Company, The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, and The Maine Children's and Discovery Museum is provided. Access information for art and cultural organizations in selected other states is provided as well.


"Making Waves Dance Company"

"SPIRAL ARTS"  (www.spiralarts.org)

Spiral Arts is a non-profit arts organization that reahes out to persons of all ages who are isolated by poverty, loneliness, racism, mental illness or special needs.  Programs such as "scrapbooking", drawing, printmaking, watercolor painting and creative writing are offered.  Spiral Arts is located at 156 High St., Portland, ME 04101, (207) 775-1474.

VSA Maine is an affiliate of the international VSA organization (formally called "Very Special Arts"), which is associated with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. VSA Maine offers programs in music, dance, writing and the visual arts in location throughout Maine.
