New Resources A Guldmann Ceiling Hoist System is now installed over three beds in Masterton 104/106 (bed lab). This system was generously donated to the School of Nursing from New England Medical Systems Co. Our thanks go to Dewey Darrow, President and Jon Balou, Account Manager for this awesome donation. The ceiling hoist system is an ideal way to safely lift, move and position patients. This technology contributes to a much safer and more effecient environment for patients and their caretakers by reducing work-related stress and strain. The benefits of this system can be realized in the reduction of staffing cost to to injury and lost time. Our students will learn to use state of the art equipment and be advocates whereever they work. We would like to give a big WELCOME to our newest manikin. His name is Kelly and he has the VitalSim programing. VitalSim programing works by connecting him to a small computer component which enables us to program his heart, lung and bowel sounds and initiate vocal sounds. He joins our other Vital manikin Anne in the lab. Either of these manikins would be great assessment tools for teaching or practicing any skill. top |
