Welcome to Kappa Zeta-at-Large Chapter

Academic Scholarship Awards

Chairperson: Laurie Caton-Lemos, MS, RN

Kappa Zeta-at-Large offers one or more academic scholarship each spring.  One of these academic scholarship awards is offered in the name of the late Patricia Geary, former Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine.  Dean Geary lost her life prematurely to cancer and is sadly missed.

Applicants must be enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree program in nursing.  The amount of a scholarship will be determined by the number of requests and the available monies in the Chapter Scholarship Fund.  The basis for fund allocation is competitive based on the quality of written goals, the applicant's contribution or potential contribution to nursing, the scholarship fund budget, and the number of proposals submitted.  Preference will be given to Sigma Theta Tau members, other attributes being equal.  The deadline for scholarship application is May 27th.
